Wedding Open Day - Sunday 26th October 2014
If you are looking for the ultimate romantic location for your wedding, why not come along to our Wedding Open Day on Sunday 26th October?
The event is taking place from 11.00am to 4.00pm and will showcase the four beautiful venues on offer, including St Margaret's Chapel, the oldest building in Edinburgh, and the elegant Queen Anne Room, situated in the heart of the castle. View our wedding pages for more information on the venues.
Please pre-register your interest in advance of the day by completing the booking form and returning to the Weddings Team. Confirmation of your attendance will be provided.
We require the lead name of the wedding party and how many will be attending the Open Day with you. On arrival free tickets will be provided to gain entry into Edinburgh Castle.
Arrival at the Castle:
When you arrive on the Esplanade at Edinburgh Castle, make your way towards the Drawbridge, cross the Drawbridge and into the main entrance area. Tickets are available for collection from 11.00am, with last ticket collection being 3.00pm.
Ticket collection will take place in The Gatehouse which is accessed by entering the door immediately to the right as you have crossed the Drawbridge and up the spiral stairs. (It will be clearly signposted on the day). The Gatehouse is also the first point on the self guided tour of our wedding areas. Edinburgh Castle team members will be based in the Gatehouse on the day & will issue you with an Edinburgh Castle map of the wedding areas.
Please be aware that there is no parking available on site at Edinburgh Castle. The nearest parking is on-street at Johnston Terrace, or the NCP car park on Castle Terrace.
What you will see:
The Gatehouse Suite
Suitable for religious, civil ceremony, civil partnership and humanist ceremonies. Maximum 40 guests for ceremony & drinks reception, or 20 guests for seated lunch / dinner.
The Jacobite Room
Available for evening receptions only. Maximum seated dinner capacity 100. Maximum evening reception / dancing capacity 150.
St Margaret's Chapel
Religious ceremonies only. Maximum capacity 25 guests (or 30 with 5 guests standing at the back)
The Queen Anne Building
Religious, civil ceremonies, civil partnerships & humanist ceremonies. Maximum ceremony & wedding breakfast capacity 120. Maximum evening reception / dancing capacity 170.
During our open day, we will be offering booking incentives for all 2015 & 2016 weddings in the Queen Anne Building and The Gatehouse Suite. There will be booking codes specific to each area, and they will be valid for all future bookings made after the Open Day.
As well as having the opportunity to view our wedding spaces and talk to our Event Managers, you will also be able to talk to other members of the Edinburgh Castle Wedding Family such as florists, photographer, piper, harpist, kilt hire, bridal and not forgetting mother of the bride.
