Concerts at the Castle

Each summer, Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade is transformed into a unique concert venue. Artists who have used the stunning backdrop of the castle include, Rod Stewart, Lionel Richie, Runrig, Simply Red, Pink, Tom Jones, Paul Weller, Jessie J, Arcade Fire, Westlife, The Proclaimers, Bryan Ferry and Boyzone.

Wet Wet Wet, will take to the stage at Edinburgh Castle on Saturday 15 July. Their debut album 'Popped In Souled Out' celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2017.

Concerts are not run by Historic Scotland. The further Information document gives details about tickets and show times.

The onsite box office is at The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh, EH1 2NG and is open on event days from 4pm.

Edinburgh Castle Esplanade is an outdoor venue, so please come appropriately dressed in warm, waterproof clothing (as required) and sturdy footwear for the steep entrance and tiered seating.

Concerts go ahead in poor weather unless it is unsafe.

Seating high in the grandstands is not recommended for people with vertigo, breathing difficulties or heart complaints.
